Description

This project focuses on the film production “Transcend” which seeks to combat social issues faced throughout the world and seeks to encourage every life that faces struggles particularly in the areas of promiscuity, violence, drug abuse and finances. One bad decision, could lead to many downfalls. These issues revolve around a male character who is trying to escape his past mistakes. He finds himself trapped in the drug culture, and as a result of the decisions he made, his life is presently in turmoil and headed for destruction. The character is further driven to the point where he almost commits suicide due to the pressures in his life. He is emotionally, physically and spiritually distraught and simply wants a way of escape. As we journey through the scope of this young man’s struggles, he is confronted with voices of, “Can I really escape? Is there honestly hope at this point? Or is my only way of escape through suicide? The film seeks to influence change to the lives of young men facing such circumstances that no matter the depth of the valley or the size of the storm, you can soar like an eagle above the difficulties. You can transcend!

Biblical Connection

We all have the power to choose. Should we choose to adopt and accept the so-called 'norms' of this society and allow the next generation to believe that this is our culture? Or do we offer an alternative that proves to be beneficial to all?. Avoidance is not necessarily the best strategy or what you may try to avoid may confront you sooner or later. “TRANSCEND!” speaks to patience and endurance. “Rome wasn’t built in one day” is an important line mentioned in the song which emphasizes the need for patience. God knows our insecurities, our problems, the struggles we face daily. I seek to encourage this generation with the Word of God which states in Isaiah 40:31 “They that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not grow weary, they shall walk and not faint.” We all know that it is not easy to be patient, but God promises to renew our strength. Be strong and hold on! I encourage this generation that it’s time to TRANSCEND! Step out of your comfort zone. Give your situation to God and allow Him to gradually fashion your life.
