Cain Killed Abel - The Pitch Archive

Created by Chantal Graham, The Pitch 2012

Description

The pitch is about a troubled young man who is on trial for killing his brother. The newspaper is describing it as the Modern day Cain and Abel story as jealousy seems to be his motive. The Cain in the story is Shawn. He is reserved and pensive and is supported solely by his mother, whom he has always shared a tight bond. This is until psychologist Dr. Andrea Vaughan meets with him but she has only two days left to unravel the truth before Shawn is sentenced to death for murder.

Biblical Connection

Genesis 4:8 Cain spoke to Abel his brother. And when they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him. The reason for Cain's action in this bible verse had been open to several interpretations, the most prominent being jealousy for one reason or the other. All these things are speculations like in this modern day take of the bible verse. Though we may never know the biblical truth we may be less quick to judge after this film.
